Goodbye 2013; Hello 2014

As 2013 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to thank the 553 authors and 6 publishers that I've worked with this year. I began LK Ebook Formatting Service in October 2009 when I responded to a "tweet" from Mark Coker of Smashwords. At that time, my husband and I were going through one of the worst times in our married life, losing everything except each other. The formatting gig was going to be a way to buy groceries while beating the bushes to find a job. As it turned out, it exceeded my expectations and grew into a full-time, home business. Thank you especially to my wonderful husband, Bryan who works with me and helped me make this business a success.
As technology changes, it continues to be a learning experience. (With Amazon - literally - every day, as most of you who deal with Amazon KDP, can attest). If someone had told me 10 years ago that I would be doing this for a living, I might not have believed them. So I hope that we can continue to grow and change together in the coming year, and I wish all of you the very best with your publishing endeavors.
To everyone who has purchased and read copies of my books, thank you, thank you, thank you! Every book sold makes my day and causes me to remember that 14-year-old girl sitting in creative writing class, daydreaming about becoming a writer. Now that the writing bug has bitten again, I plan to continue working on another book in 2014.
Look back at 2013 and be grateful not only for the good times but the bad times, as well. Adversity shapes us, changes us and makes us who we are. It teaches us lessons about life and ourselves that we need to learn in order to become who we need to be. May 2014 bring you all good things and be the best year ever!
